Trustco - financing facility secured by Meya
Trustco reported that Meya Mining Ltd., in which Trustco holds an indirect equity interest, secured a USD25 million (R400 million) financing facility from Ecobank Sierra Leone Ltd., supported by Ecobank Ghana Plc. The loan, on normal commercial terms, will fund advanced diamond processing equipment, mining vehicles, and infrastructure, supporting Sierra Leone’s diamond industry and local employment. Trustco’s exposure includes an indirect equity stake and a USD46 million loan receivable. The company clarifies that no transaction has been approved or guarantees provided by Trustco related to this facility, which is a voluntary disclosure. The funding signifies confidence in Meya’s long-term potential and aims to boost local beneficiation and economic development.
