NET ATTRIBUTABLE ASSET VALUE OF THE VARIABLE RATE DEBENTURES AS AT 31 MARCH 2007
The net attributable asset value ("NAAV") of the Foord Compass Limited Variable
Rate Debentures ("the debentures") as at 31 March 2007 amounted to 840.9 cents
per debenture. This is an increase of 67.1 cents per debenture over the net
interest NAAV of 773.8 cents per debenture reported as at 31 December 2006. The
debentures therefore earned a total return of 8.4% for the quarter. The company
paid debenture interest of 60.404 cents per debenture relating to the six month
period ended 31 December 2006 during the first quarter of 2007.
The annualised total return on the debentures since 1 January 2002 is 26.4% per
annum, calculated with reference to the net attributable asset value and
interest distributed. The benchmark CPI plus 10% per annum return over the same
period amounts to 15.2%.
The board would like to emphasise that the NAAV is only one evaluation measure.
Investors are therefore cautioned about making financial decisions based solely
on the published NAAV.
