1. Introduction
Investors are referred to the Nedbank announcements dated 19 February 2007 and
14 March 2007 relating to the private placing of non-core Tier 1 Nedbank
preference shares in April 2007.
2. Results of the private placing
Nedbank is pleased to announce that in terms of the private placing, 35,482,136
Nedbank preference shares with an aggregate value of R364,401,537 were
placed at a price of R10.27 per Nedbank preference share at an effective
75% of the prime interest rate.
3. Listing of the preference shares on the JSE Limited ("JSE")
Nedbank has applied to the JSE for the listing of the 35,482,136 additional
Nedbank preference shares in the Specialist Securities - "Preference
Shares" sector of the JSE with effect from Monday, 16 April 2007. The
Nedbank preference shares will be allotted and issued, against receipt of
payment from their Central Securities Depository Participants, to
institutions and individuals who applied for preference shares, on Monday,
16 April 2007.
