Change in Directorate
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements,
shareholders are advised that Mike Ilsley has resigned from the position of
Group Finance Director. The board is pleased to announce the appointment of
Deon Viljoen to the board of the Company as Group Finance Director with
immediate effect. Although Mike Ilsley will come off the board of the
Company on 1 June 2007, the company is pleased to advise that he has agreed
to continue as a senior executive of the group until 31 March 2008 which
will ensure a smooth handover of his responsibilities to Deon Viljoen.
The board would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mike Ilsley who
has been in the position of Group Finance Director since 1999 and has made
a significant contribution to the group during his tenure.
Deon Viljoen, who is a chartered accountant, joined the group as Finance
Director of Investment Solutions in 2003. In November 2004, Deon was
appointed the Africa Group Finance Director, a role he has fulfilled with
distinction. Deon Viljoen`s considerable experience as well as his close
working relationship with both Mike Ilsley and Peter Moyo means that he is
well placed to succeed Mike Ilsley as Group Finance Director.
