Miranda Coal Division update - Application for Prospecting Permits.
Shareholders are referred to the previous announcement dated 19 April 2007
("Uithoek Coal Project"). The board of MMH is pleased to announce that in
continuing with the group`s strategy of extending its holdings of coal
assets in the Klipriver coal fields around Dundee in Kwazulu-Natal, an
additional three Prospecting Applications covering six farms and 12 356
hectares in extent have been accepted by the Department of Minerals and
Energy.
Consolidation of these farms, all of which are within a 15km radius of the
"Uithoek Project" will provide the project with a critical mass of an
estimated 120 million tons of high quality coking coal.
Preliminary analysis of historical borehole data show the farms to have
similar geology to that of Uithoek, also consisting of four seams: Top,
Intermediate, Bottom and lower seams, ranging in thickness of between 0.8m
and 1.5m.
The company will continue with its policy to actively include the local
communities as joint venture partners and at project level, providing them
with the necessary technical skills.
