GRANT AND ACCEPTANCE OF SHARE OPTIONS BY DIRECTORS AND OFFICERS OF THE COMPANY
In terms of paragraph 3.63 - 3.65 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE, the
following information is disclosed in respect of the grant and acceptance of
share options for Great Basin ordinary shares by the directors and officers of

These share options have been granted in terms of the Great Basin Share Option
Scheme. This allocation of share options is subject to time-based criteria, with
the first tranche of 33,3% vesting 4 months after the options were granted. The
second tranche of 33,3% vests 1 year after the options were granted. The third
tranche of 33,3% vests 2 years after the options were granted. The options
expire on 31 March 2012.
The transaction is classified as direct beneficial for all directors and
officers. The required prior written clearance for the grant and acceptance of
these share options has been obtained.
