ABSA BANK LIMITED - PRIVATE PLACEMENT OF ABSA BANK PREFERENCE SHARES (ABSP
preference shares)
Investors are referred to Absa Bank`s announcements dated 20 March 2007 and
06 June 2007 relating to the monthly ABSP preference share issuance
programme.
Absa Bank is pleased to announce that, in terms of the private placement,
31 223 of ABSP preference shares, at an aggregate value of R27 919 294,37
were placed at a price of R894,19 at an effective dividend rate of 72,25%
of prime.
The JSE has granted Absa Bank a listing of the 31 223 additional ABSP
preference shares in the Specialist Securities - "Preference shares" sector
with effect from Tuesday, 12 June 2007. The ABSP preference shares will be
allotted and issued, against receipt of payment from their Central
Securities Depository Participants, to institutions who applied for
preference shares, on Tuesday, 12 June 2007.
