AFGRI APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN
Johannesburg - 25 July 2007
Dave de Beer (66) has been appointed chairman of the Board of Directors of
AFGRI Limited.
He succeeds "Pietman" Erasmus, who announced at the company`s recent AGM
that he was to retire as chairman and a director, positions which he held
for 15 and 22 years respectively.
De Beer, who is a Chartered Accountant (SA) is a past chairman of Idion
Technology Holdings Limited and a director of several private companies,
including chairman of Kingfisher Insurance Company.
"Koot" Claassen and Jethro Mbau have been appointed joint deputy chairmen
of AFGRI. Claassen, is chairman of Agri Mpumalanga and a farmer in the
Delmas area. Mbau is a past chairman of the Land Bank.
The AFGRI Board now comprises: Non-executive directors: Chairman Dave de
Beer, joint deputy chairmen "Koot" Claassen and Jethro Mbau, Clive Apsey,
"Kiewiet" Ferreira, Moses Moloele, Khomotso Thoka and Francois van der
Merwe; and executive directors: Jeff Wright, managing director and De Wet
Goosen, financial director.
