TEAL APPOINTS TWO EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
TEAL Exploration & Mining Incorporated (TSX-"TL") (JSE-"TEL") ("TEAL") has
announced that TEAL`s Chief Financial Officer ("CFO"), Mr. Hannes Otto Meyer
(37), and TEAL`s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Arne Nicolaas Lewis (38), have
been appointed to the Board.
Mr. Meyer has 11 years of experience in the mining industry. Prior to joining
TEAL on November 14, 2006 as its CFO, Mr. Meyer held the position of Senior
Financial Manager: Business Development with AngloGold Ashanti Limited where he
gained extensive experience in all facets of corporate finance during his seven
year tenure at that company. While at AngloGold Ashanti he also worked in the
Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania on short-term secondments. Prior to
joining AngloGold Ashanti, he was employed by Randgold Resources Limited, during
which time he spent over two years working at a mining operation in Mali. Mr.
Meyer is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa). He completed his articles with a
South African accounting firm and he obtained his B.Com (Hons) in accounting
from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
Mr. Lewis has 18 years of experience in the mining industry, notably in respect
of underground and open-pit mining in the platinum group metals ("PGM"), base
metal and gold sectors. Prior to joining TEAL, he was Operations Executive at
ARMPlatinum, a division of African Rainbow Minerals Limited ("ARM"). From 2002
to 2004, Mr. Lewis was the Vice President of South African Operations for
Anglovaal Mining Limited. Prior to that, he was the general manager of the
Nkomati Nickel Mine located in South Africa. Mr. Lewis is a professional
engineer and holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Pretoria,
South Africa, a Master of Science from the University of Witwatersrand, South
Africa, and a Master in Business Administration from Henley Management College,
England.
