FIRE AT THE GREENHILLS PLANT                                                    
Samroc shareholders are advised that the company`s Greehills Manganese          
Sulphate plant near Graskop, Mpumalanga was partially damaged by fire on        
Tuesday, 31 July 2007                                                           
Preliminary estimates are that production at the plant will be disrupted for a  
period of two weeks. The plant is fully insured and a claim has been lodged     
with the company`s insurers. The effect on the company`s revenues is not        
expected to be material.
