ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATION FOR A MINING RIGHT
Wesizwe is pleased to announce to shareholders that the Company received on 25
July 2007 a formal acceptance from the Department of Minerals and Energy for
the Company`s application for a Mining Right in terms of Section 22(1) of the
Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act 28 of 2002).
The acceptance of the mining right application is for Wesizwe`s core
Frischgewaagd-Ledig project. Properties covered are the remaining extent of
portion 1, portions 3, 4, and 11 of the farm Frischgewaagd 96 JQ, portions 3,
4, 6, and 7 and the remaining extent of the farm Ledig 909 JQ, and a certain
portion of the remaining extent of the farm Mimosa 81 JQ.
Documentation submitted with the Mining Right application included a Social
and Labour Plan and the Pre-Feasibility Study which was released in March
2007. The Bankable Feasibility Study is still ongoing.
Following receipt of the acceptance of the Mining Right application, the next
steps required for final approval by the Department of Minerals and Energy for
a mining licence to commence construction are to conduct an Environmental
Impact Assessment and submit an Environmental Management Programme.
