Update on the lodging of the mining right
Further to the announcement of 30 July 2007 in which the company advised that it
expected the mining right which had been granted to and notarially executed in
the name of Umlabu Colliery (Pty) Limited to be lodged on or before 1 August
2007, the company now wishes to advise that lodgement is only expected to be
completed by Friday 3 August 2007. As soon as lodgement has been completed, an
abridged pre-listing statement ("the abridged pls") presenting information on
the company as it will exist after the completion of the restructuring of its
balance sheet, the empowerment transaction in terms of which control of the
company passes to Royal Bafokeng Capital (Pty) Limited and the acquisition of
two operating coal mines (collectively, "the transactions") will be released.
Shareholders are reminded that the shares which are currently listed on the JSE,
and those which will be issued in respect of the transactions, are not as yet
consolidated and have a par value of one cent per share. The dates for the
implementation of the 1 for ten consolidation and the name change of the company
will be included in the abridged pls. Following consolidation, the shares will
have a par value of ten cents per share.
