Appointment of Mr Eric Shipalana as Executive Director and Dr Felicity Coughlan
as Alternate Director
The Board of ADvTECH Limited, the education, recruitment and human resources
group, announces that Mr Eric Shipalana has been appointed as an executive
director and Dr Felicity Coughlan as an alternate director. Both appointments
are effective from 24 August 2007.
Mr Shipalana is currently an Executive Committee ("EXCO") member, a member of
the Board Transformation Committee and Chairman of the Group`s Provident Fund.
He has a BSc, UED (Fort Hare), CIPIR (Wits GBS) and a Human Resources Management
Diploma. During his career he has worked for companies such as Murray & Roberts
Limited, Sasol Limited, SmithKline Beecham, Envirotech and MSD SA (Pty) Limited,
a subsidiary of Merck Pharmaceuticals. He has over 24 years experience in Human
Resources and 12 years in Board positions.
Dr Coughlan, also an Exco member, joined the IIE in August 2005, and is
currently Director: IIE, being the accountable executive of the IIE. Dr Coughlan
has a B Soc Sc (SW) and two Honours degrees from Rhodes in Social Work and
Psychology, a M Sc (London) and a D Phil (UNISA). She has worked as a student
counsellor, a social worker, was appointed as Associate Dean of the Faculty of
Humanities (Rhodes), Deputy Registrar (Wits) and Director of Strategic Planning
(Wits) before joining ADvTECH in 2005.
