A portfolio in the Satrix Collective Investment Scheme ("Satrix"), registered
as such in terms of the Collective Investment Schemes Control Act, 45 of 2002
(the "Act")

DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCEMENT
The manager and trustees of the Satrix Collective Investment Scheme (being
Satrix Managers (Proprietary) Limited and ABSA Bank Limited respectively) have
resolved to make a distribution to holders of Satrix 40 securities recorded in
the register in respect of the quarter ended 30 September 2007. This
distribution will:
- be an amount of 22,26 cents (twenty two point two six cents) (R0,2260)
per Satrix 40 security;
- constituted by:
- 11,76 cents in respect of dividends; and
- 10,50 cents in respect of other income;
- be made to all holders of Satrix 40 securities recorded in the register
on 28 September 2007; and
- be effected on 26 October 2007.
The Satrix 40 securities had a Total Expense Ratio (TER) of 31,61 basis points
(0,3161%) (annualised) for the period 1 January to 30 September 2007. This
ratio does not include the cost of acquiring assets. The current TER cannot be
regarded as an indication of future TERs.
The Satrix 40 portfolio engages in scrip lending activities, with the sole aim
of reducing the net expenses in the portfolio. All income received from scrip
lending is used to defray expenses in the portfolio. The Actual Expense Ratio
(AER), including the impact of scrip lending for the above period and the cost
of acquiring assets is 15,81 basis points (0,1581 %) on an annualised basis.
