COMPETITION APPEAL COURT SETS ASIDE TRIBUNAL DECISION TO APPROVE PRIMEDIA
MERGER
The Competition appeal court yesterday 19 November 2006, upheld an application
by African Media Entertainment to the Competition Appeal Court to set aside a
decision by the Competition Tribunal to unconditionally approve the merger
between Primedia, Capricorn Capital Partners and New Africa Investments. The
Competition Appeal Court has referred the merger back to the Competition
Tribunal for consideration and determination.
African Media Entertainment was a participant in the merger proceedings before
the Competition Tribunal.
