Notification of Subsidiary Directors` acceptance of options in Massmart
securities
In compliance with rule 3.63 to 3.66 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, a
subsidiary director of Massmart has accepted the offer for the granting of
options through the Massmart Executive Share Trust ("the Trust") effective 24
August 2007, at an offer price of R80.7523 per share (being the consideration
payable by the participant for the shares). Clearance for the allocation was
given by the Remuneration Committee of Massmart:

In terms of the Trust rules one quarter of the options vest on the second
anniversary date of the grant, a further quarter on the third anniversary, a

anniversary. The shares or options are subject to a six year expiry period.
