At the Annual General Meeting of Rare shareholders held on Thursday, 29
November 2007, Mr J J van der Merwe, although eligible for re-election, did
not make himself available for re-election, and, accordingly, is no longer
a non-executive director of Rare with effect from the abovementioned date.
