MICHAEL SOLOMON RANKED SIXTH AMONG SA LEADING MANAGERS
Wesizwe is proud to announce to shareholders that Michael Solomon, CEO, was
named as South Africa`s 6th Leading Manager by international research based
publisher Corporate Research Foundation last week.
Contributors to the research included Business Report, UCT Graduate School
of Business, The Institute of Directors, Business Women`s Association and
Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut.
The publication is based on factual research into management best practice
and leadership style in South Africa called the Leadership Benchmark. It
covers 26 sectors and the key management indicators used included growth of
the company, management strategy, the competitive environment, innovation
and flexibility, and corporate social responsibility. Ian Cockerill, CEO,
Gold Fields Ltd was nominated as SA`s top leading manager.
Says Michael Solomon, CEO, "I am honoured by this award. Considering the
calibre of the other 50 leaders featured in the book, the award recognises
Wesizwe`s achievements in developing the company into a resource player
within just three years.
I would like to thank Wesizwe`s team who have the technical, financial and
administrative capacity as well as the focus, optimism and dedication to
further grow the company to be South Africa`s leader in a new generation of
platinum miners."
