APPOINTMENT OF A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
In terms of Section 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, the Board
is pleased to announce that Mr David Neale Murray has been appointed as a Non-
Executive Director of the Gold Fields with effect from 1 January 2008.
Mr David Murray (62 years) is a Non-executive Director of Rio Narcea Gold Mines
Limited and Ivernia Inc. Mr Murray has more than 35 years experience in the
mining industry. Previously, Mr Murray was the President and Chief Executive
Officer of the following Companies; Rio Tinto Portugal, Rio Tinto Brazil, TVX
Gold Inc. and Chief Executive Officer of Avgold Limited and Avmin Limited. He
holds a BA (Hons) Econ and an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
The Board welcomes Mr Murray to the Gold Fields Group and looks forward to his
valuable contribution.
