SALE OF RAND CARBIDE DIVISION
Shareholders are referred to the Announcement published on 9 October 2007 where
shareholders were advised that Highveld had entered into a sale and purchase
agreement with Silicon Smelters (Proprietary) Limited, a subsidiary of
FerroAtlantica, for the sale of Highveld`s Rand Carbide Division.
Shareholders are informed that all conditions precedent referred to in the
mentioned announcement have been met, that both parties have fulfilled their
obligations and the transaction has thus been concluded. The effective date,
however, will be 1 February 2008.
