CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The board of Medi-Clinic is pleased to announce the appointment of the following
directors of the Company:
Mr Joseph C Cohen was appointed as a Non-Executive director with effect from 1
February 2008. Mr Cohen is a Managing Director of Lehman Brothers, Co-Head of
Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking ("LBMB"), Europe and a member of the firm`s
Investment Management Division`s European Operating Committee. Mr Cohen joined
Lehman Brothers in 1988 and spent eight years in Corporate Finance based in
Paris, New York and London prior to joining LBMB in 1996. Mr Cohen also holds
various other directorships and a BSc. degree in Economics from the London
School of Economics.
LBMB has become a material shareholder in Medi-Clinic.
Dr Hertzog, chairman of Medi-Clinic stated that Medi-Clinic is pleased by this
investment as it demonstrates the support of a renowned international investor
for the Company`s strategy which includes recent expansions in Europe and the
Middle East. Medi-Clinic is confident that LBMB`s deep knowledge of the
healthcare sector as well as its successful track record as an active investor
will prove valuable to the Company`s board and the Company`s further
development.

Dr Robert Bider, the CEO of the Hirslanden hospital group in Switzerland, was
appointed as an Executive Director with effect from 1 February 2008. He joined
Hirslanden in 1985, becoming CEO in 1990. Dr Bider holds a Ph.D. in Technical
Science from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
