CHANGES TO DIRECTORATE
In compliance with section 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE,
Palabora hereby announces the following changes its Board of Directors:
Keith Marshall, the Managing Director at Palabora leaves at the end of
February 2008, after four successful and productive years at Palabora, to head
up Ivanhoe Mining Company as the Managing Director. Keith is being seconded by
Rio Tinto to the Oyu Toigoi project in Mongolia, one of the largest
undeveloped copper projects in the world.
In his new role, Keith will be responsible for developing the overall project
as well as taking a leading role in the on-going Investment Agreement
negotiations with the Mongolian Government.
George Negota, Chairman of the Palabora Board of Directors remarked: "On
behalf of the board and on my own behalf, I would like to thank Keith for his
outstanding operational guidance and for taking Palabora from a difficult
situation to one of production stability and financial security. I wish Keith
and Mo every success in their new venture."
Matt Gili, the general manager of operations, responsible for the underground
and concentrator operations, is appointed to the role of Managing Director,
Palabora. Matt has been a key member of the Palabora team for the last three
years and has contributed significantly to the greatly improved operational
and safety performance.
