Changes at Exchange Sponsors
Johannesburg, 21 February 2008: Exchange Sponsors, a JSE approved Sponsor, as
well as a Designated Advisor to the Alternative Exchange (AltX ) of the JSE,
announces that Wessel van der Merwe, one of the founding members of Corporate
Solutions and Exchange Sponsors, has sold his shares in Corporate Solutions, the
controlling shareholder of Exchange Sponsors, and resigned as director of both
companies.
As part of the transaction, Wessel acquired certain assets and contracts from
Corporate Solutions. Wessel and certain former employees of Corporate Solutions
will pursue a similar business.
Exchange Sponsors has listed 24 companies on AltX and transferred four companies
to AltX since 2005. In 2005 and 2006 Exchange Sponsors received the JSE`s award
as most active DA on AltX.
Exchange Sponsors provides an extensive range of corporate advisory services to
listed and unlisted clients. These include mergers and acquisitions,
restructurings, listings, equity capital raising, valuations, management buy-
outs and buy-ins, and procurement of BEE and strategic equity partners.
Marius Meyer, through Corporate Solutions, and Grindrod Bank, the other founders
of Exchange Sponsors, will retain their respective shareholdings in the company.
Exchange Sponsors is supported by a team of professional staff with a wide
variety of working experience in the financial services industry. Marius is very
