FALL OF GROUND EVENT AT PAMODZI GOLD`S ORKNEY OPERATIONS
Gold mining company, Pamodzi Gold Limited (Pamodzi Gold) regretfully announces
that a fall of ground occurred at the Orkney number 2 Shaft, causing the death
of Mr. Ulrich Louw, shift boss responsible for the section.
The fall of ground occurred in the 74NW43 wide raise stope. Mr. Louw was
regretfully fatally injured. No other persons were injured. Chief Operating
Officer, Tony Murdoch Eaton, immediately stopped all operations on the shaft.
Mining operations will only resume once the investigations, in conjunction with
the Department of Minerals and Energy, are done.
The executive of Pamodzi Gold and the management of the Orkney operations have
expressed their sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Mr.
Louw and assure them of Pamodzi Gold`s support during this difficult time.
