Reorganisation of the board of directors
In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements,
ChemSpec is pleased to announce the following changes to the board of
directors:
- With the earlier appointment of Jonathan Maehler as financial director,
Bruce Mackinnon, the former financial director, has been appointed deputy
managing director, to provide support to the CEO, Strath Wood;
- David Randles, a former practicing attorney and the President of the KZN
Law Society, Chair of the Attorneys Fidelity Fund and Chair of the
Attorneys Insurance Indemnity Fund, has been appointed an executive
director with effect from 11 March 2008;
- Ralton Bentley has resigned as an executive director with effect from 11
March 2008 in order to fully focus on the technical elements of the
business, in particular in relation to the expanding international
market;
- Michael Oldham, a non executive director and an previous partner of KPMG
Inc., has been appointed the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and a
member of the Remuneration Committee; and
- Anand Moodley, a non executive director and a practicing attorney of 30
years experience who is currently a senior partner at the law firm, Ditz
Inc (Durban), has been appointed a member of the Audit and Risk Committee
and the Chair of the Remuneration Committee.
