TRADING UPDATE
In terms of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, companies are required to
publish a trading statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that the
financial results for the period to be reported on will differ by more than 20%
from that of the previous corresponding period. Accordingly, a review of the
financial results for the six months ended 29 February 2008 by management has
indicated that earnings per share and headline earnings per share are expected
to be between 155% and 175% higher than those in the previous corresponding
period equating to earnings per share of between 13.5 and 14.6 cents per share
for the six month period.
Furthermore, a review of the probable financial results for the year ending 31
August 2008 by management has indicated that earnings per share and headline
earnings per share are expected to be between 50% and 70% higher than those
forecast in B&W`s prospectus issued on 27 June 2007 equating to earnings per
share of between 24.8 and 28.1 cents per share for the year.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by B&W`s auditors. B&W`s interim financial results are
expected to be released on SENS on or about 15 April 2008.
