Johannesburg. Monday 17 March 2008. Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited
(Harmony) announces that regrettably one person died at its Masimong Mine as a
result of a fall of ground.
The accident occurred at 12h30 on level 1750 in a ledging stope. Indications are
that it was caused by the collapse of a brow. Safety shifts will be carried out
tonight and tomorrow to assess and eliminate all risks in the work places.
Harmony extends its sympathy and deepest condolences to the family of the
deceased.
