TRADING STATEMENT AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
In terms of the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa (JSE) Listings
Requirements, a company must publish a trading statement as soon as it becomes
aware that the financial results for the period to be reported upon next will be
materially and substantially different from the financial results for the
previous corresponding period.
Accordingly, shareholders are advised that Johncom`s headline earnings for the
year ended 31 March 2004 may be materially higher (`materially` being an
increase between 10% and 30%, as defined in the revised JSE Listings
Requirements) than those reported in the previous corresponding period. In
addition, attributable earnings per share may be substantially higher
(`substantially` being an increase of 30% or more as defined in the revised JSE
Listings Requirements) than those reported in the previous period.
As the forecast financial information has not been reviewed or reported on by
Johncom`s auditors, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in
Johncom`s shares until the publication of the final results on 24 June 2004.
