APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN AND DEPUTY CHAIRMAN
Following the untimely death of Mr Leslie Boyd, the Chairman of Imperial
Holdings, the board of Imperial announces the following important appointments
with immediate effect:
Non Executive Chairman (independent) - Mr Thulani Gcabashe
Non Executive Deputy Chairman (non independent) - Mr Oshy Tugendhaft
Mr Gcabashe joined the board in January this year as Deputy Chairman with a view
to succeeding Mr Boyd as Chairman on his retirement from the board, which was
expected to be in November 2008. He was the CEO of Eskom from 2000 to 2007.
Mr Tugendhaft, the managing partner of a respected Johannesburg law firm has
served on the board of Imperial since 1998. He has been attorney and advisor to
the group on a wide range of the group`s activities for the past twenty years.
The board wishes to congratulate Messrs Gcabashe and Tugendhaft on their
appointments and wishes them success in their new positions.
As at 2 April 2008, the board will be constituted as follows:
