FALL OF GROUND EVENT AT PAMODZI GOLD`S FREE STATE OPERATIONS
Gold mining company, Pamodzi Gold Limited (Pamodzi Gold) regrets to announce
that a fall of ground occurred at the its Free State operation at number 3
Shaft, claiming the life of one of its employees.
The fall of ground occurred at 9h15 on level 60, at the 82A ledging panel,
1840 meters underground. A stope team leader was regretfully fatally injured.
No other persons were injured.
The Chief Operating Officer has ceased all operations on the shaft. A full
investigation has been launched into the accident, in conjunction with the
Department of Minerals and Energy, to confirm the cause of the accident.
The name of the deceased cannot be released until the next of kin has been
notified.
The executive of Pamodzi Gold and the management of the Free State operations
have expressed their sincere condolences to the family, friends and
colleagues of the deceased and assure them of Pamodzi Gold`s support during
this difficult time
