TRADING UPDATE FOR THE 8 MONTHS ENDED 29 FEBRUARY 2008
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are required
to publish a trading statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that
the financial results for the period to be reported on will differ by at least
20% or more from those of the previous corresponding period.
CIC has during the current period changed its year end to the last day of
February (formerly 30 June). The results for the eight month period ending 29
February 2008 are therefore compared to management accounts for the eight month
period ending 28 February 2007. The management accounts for the previous 8 month
period ending 28 February 2007 were not audited or reviewed by CIC`s auditors.
Earnings and headline earnings for the period are expected to increase by
between 40% to 50% over those of the 8 months ending 28 February 2007. Earnings
per share and headline earnings per share for the period are expected to
increase by between 20% to 30% over those of the 8 months ended 28 February
2007.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by CIC`s auditors.
The audited results for the 8 months ended 29 February 2008 are expected to be
published on SENS before the end of April 2008.
