ANNOUNCEMENT: MONEYWEB, SAfm PARTNERS AGAIN
Moneyweb`s award winning radio programme is back where it pioneered SA
business radio just over a decade ago, resuscitating a partnership with South
Africa`s news and information leader, SAfm.
From May 5, SAfm Market Update with Moneyweb, will be air weeknights from just
after the 18:00 news until 18:30, for the next three years.
It is a switch for Moneyweb within the SA Broadcasting Corporation, brought
about after a four-year spell on Radio 2000 ended with that station`s re-
positioning. The company also produces RSG se Geldsake met Moneyweb weeknights
on the national broadcaster`s Afrikaans-language market leader.
Says Moneyweb CEO Alec Hogg: "As South Africa`s news and information leader,
SAfm has always been the natural home for our radio programme.
"It feels like a homecoming. We`re sure the station`s dedicated audience will
be delighted to welcome back our unique brand of easy listening business
broadcasting and our regulars like David Shapiro, Wayne McCurrie, Piet Viljoen
and Imtiaz Ahmed."
In this highly competitive segment of the market, Moneyweb`s programme has
been adjudged the best business radio show in all but one of the past 10
years.
SAfm Station Manager, Dennis O`Donnell says: "Moneyweb has a solid track
record in the delivery of quality business radio and we believe their
contribution will enhance our programming, adding to the listening experience.
This is the next logical step for SAfm`s well respected Market Update."
SAfm (nationwide, FM104 - 107) has an audience of 602 000 listeners and is the
SABC`s national English language public radio station. It draws its audience
from LSMs seven to 10 and core listeners fall into the age bracket 30 to 49.
SAfm strives to attract a diverse audience, of whom some 61% are black and 39%
white.
