POSTING OF ABSA BANK`S 2007 ANNUAL REPORT
Preference shareholders are advised that the Company`s annual report for the
year ended 31 December 2007 will be available on the Company`s website,
www.absa.co.za, from today, 12 May 2008, and will be lodged with the JSE Limited
and posted to preference shareholders by Monday, 26 May 2008. An abridged report
has not been published as the information previously published by Absa Bank on
Tuesday, 19 February 2008 is unchanged. Ernst & Young Inc. and
PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. audited Absa Bank`s results and their audit reports
are available for inspection at the registered office of the Company.
