In compliance with the requirements of rule 3.59 of the JSE Listings
requirements, Santam advises herewith that Mr Alwyn Martin has retired as an
independent Non-Executive director of Santam with effect from 09 May 2008 as he
has reached the retirement age of 70 years in terms of Santam`s Articles of
Association.
Mr Martin joined Santam`s board in November 1996. He is a Chartered Accountant
by profession and served on the Santam Audit & Risk Committee and, more
recently, the BBBEE subcommittee.
We thank him for his invaluable contribution to Santam and wish him well with
his retirement.
