Old Mutual plc ("the Company") announces that on 19 May 2008 it purchased
through Merrill Lynch South Africa (Pty) Limited a total of 257,439 of the
Company`s ordinary shares of 10p each.
All of these shares were acquired on the JSE Limited at an average price of ZAR
17.8212 per share.
The purchased shares will be held in treasury. The Company`s current issued
share capital is now 5,275,315,536 ordinary shares of 10p each (excluding the
238,375,056 shares that have so far been repurchased into treasury).
