AFGRI LIMITED: EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS
John Mooney has been appointed interim chief executive officer of AFGRI services
company, AFGRI Limited, effective 01 July 2008.
This follows the resignation of Jeff Wright, effective from 30 June 2008.
Making the announcement, the company`s board of directors said that it will now
follow a process to make a permanent appointment as a matter of priority, for
which both internal and external candidates will be considered.
John Mooney, who has been with AFGRI since 1999, is the group`s commercial
director, is a member of the board of AFGRI Operations Limited and is also
responsible for AFGRI International. He is a CA (SA) whose experience covers
financial and general management in agricultural businesses. He joined AFGRI
from Tiger Agri & Poultry where he was financial director.
Jan van der Schyff has been appointed chief financial officer of the group and a
member of the board of AFGRI Operations Limited. This follows the retirement of
the AFGRI financial director De Wet Goosen at the end of May 2008. Jan Van der
Schyff, who is a CA (SA), has been with the company since March 2007. He joined
AFGRI from Mondi in the Anglo American stable where, over a period of 12 years,
he gained wide experience in a range of senior operational and corporate
financial positions.
