QUARTERLY DISCLOSURE IN TERMS OF REGULATION 43 OF THE BANK`S ACT 1990 (AS       
AMENDED)                                                                        
Capitec Bank Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries ("group"), have complied with
the Bank`s Act 1990 (as amended), effective 1 January 2008, which incorporates  
the requirements of Basel II.                                                   
In terms of Pillar 3 under Basel II, the consolidated group is required to      
disclose quantitative information on its capital adequacy ratios on a quarterly 
basis.                                                                          
The group`s consolidated capital position at the end of the 1st financial       
quarter is set out below :

The increase in the capital adequacy ratio of the group was a result of a change
in the methodology used to calculate the operational risk component of the      
regulatory capital requirement.                                                 
The group reported to the market on 16 April 2008 that approval was received    
from the South African Reserve Bank to apply the Alternative Standardised       
Approach ("ASA") methodology for the calculation of the operational risk        
component of the regulatory capital requirement.                                
For ease of comparison, the table below shows the position with the comparative 
4th Quarter 2008 figures revised, to illustrate the impact had the ASA been     
effective at that time.
