EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENT AND RE-ALLOCATION OF EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT
RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Management Appointment
Tiger Brands is pleased to announce the appointment of Bongiwe Njobe as
Executive Manager, responsible for Corporate Affairs, Regulatory Affairs,
Compliance and Stakeholder Management, Enterprise Development and Environmental
Management.
Bongiwe will bring to Tiger Brands a rich and varied work experience having been
Director-General of the National Department of Agriculture and currently
Corporate Affairs Director at SAB Limited. Bongiwe will join Tiger Brands with
effect from 11 August 2008.
Peter Matlare, Chief Executive of Tiger Brands said that the appointment of
Bongiwe is particularly welcomed in that she will be able to bring to Tiger
Brands a wealth of experience to her areas of responsibility, which are areas of
important strategic focus.
Re-allocation of Executive Management Responsibilities
Tiger Brands announces a re-allocation of the following Senior Executive
responsibilities:
* Phil Roux, in addition to his current responsibilities which are Consumer
Healthcare, Groceries, Langeberg and Ashton Foods (Pty) Limited and Sea
Harvest Corporation (Pty) Limited will assume responsibilities for Snacks
and Treats, Beverages, Value Added Meats and Out of Home divisions. The
Group Customer function will also report to Phil Roux.
* Neil Brimacombe, shall assume responsibility for the Company`s
international expansion, which is particularly focused on Africa as well as
other selected emerging markets. Neil will have responsibility for the
Company`s interests in the associate companies, Oceana Group Limited and
the Chilean associate, Empresas Carozzi.
* Thabi Segoale, in addition to his current responsibilities relating to the
Grains businesses will assume responsibility for the Group Supply Chain
function.
These changes will take effect from 1 October 2008.
The Company is confident that these appointments will result in increased
synergies between the Company`s South African operations and will also provide
the focus necessary to assist the Company in ensuring the achievement of its
strategic international expansion objectives, particularly in Africa.
