x-trackers") (formerly the Itrix Collective Investment Scheme in Securities)
registered as such in terms of the Collective Investment Schemes Control Act, 45
of 2002, managed by db x-trackers (Proprietary) Limited (formerly Itrix Managers
(Proprietary) Limited)
DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCEMENT
The manager and trustees of the db x-trackers (being db x-trackers (Proprietary)
Limited and The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited respectively) have
resolved to make a distribution to holders of dbx USA securities recorded in the
Register as at 27 June 2008 ("holders"), in respect of the period ended 30 June
2008.
Details of the distribution are set out below:
- The distribution payable to holders will be an amount in ZAR equivalent to USD
0.01870 (one point eight seven zero cents) per dbx USA security, less the
applicable management fee as detailed in the Fourth Supplement to the
Offering Circular and Pre-listing Statement dated 13 February 2008 (the "USD
distribution amount").
- The USD distribution amount will be converted to ZAR at the exchange rate
prevailing on or about Thursday, 24 July 2008, details of which will be
published on SENS on or about Friday, 25 July 2008.
- The distribution will be paid to holders on or about Wednesday, 30 July 2008.
Holders of dbx USA securities who hold 100,000 or more dbx USA securities may
elect to receive the distribution in USD payable to their "foreign USD cash
account held at the applicable USD clearer". Such election is to be conveyed to
db x-trackers (Proprietary) Limited via the holder`s CSDP in the required format
by no later than Wednesday, 23 July 2008, failing which holders will be paid the
ZAR equivalent referred to above.
WITHHOLDING TAX
The USD distribution amount (which represents a pro rata portion of the
distributable income of the portfolio) has been calculated after deduction of
withholding tax (being tax payable by db x-trackers to the United States
Government) on dividends. The USD distribution amount of USD 0.01870 per dbx USA
security is calculated as follows:
- Gross foreign dividends of USD 0.00596 (zero point five nine six cents);
- Less withholding tax of USD 0.00090 (zero point zero nine zero cents);
- Plus other income of USD 0.01364 (one point three six four cents).
The information set out above is published for information purposes only, inter
alia, to enable South African resident tax payers the ability to claim a foreign
tax credit or rebate (in terms of the section 6 quat) or a deduction (in terms
of section 11C(4) of the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962, in respect of foreign
dividend income accruing to holders. This information does not purport to
