NEW APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The board of directors of Pretoria Portland Cement Company Limited ("PPC") is
pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Tim Ross to the board of directors
with effect from 17 July 2008.
Mr. Ross has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of PPC and
also as the chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board. He will replace Mr.
Shaw who temporarily acted as both the chairman of the Board and the Audit
Committee and as a result his appointment will align the board and its committee
structures with corporate governance best practice.
He recently retired from Deloitte at the mandatory retirement age where he had
served as Lead Client Service Partner to many major South African clients.
The Board believes that Mr. Ross`s experience and qualifications will add
significantly to the Board`s deliberations.
