TRADING STATEMENT
Liberty Holdings shareholders are referred to the trading statement published by
Liberty Group Limited on 29 July 2008. Liberty Holdings is the holding company
of Liberty Group Limited and has no business other than that related to its
investment in Liberty Group Limited. Liberty Holdings holds a 50,23% interest in
Liberty Group Limited.
In terms of 3.4(b)(i) of the JSE Listings Requirements, issuers must publish a
trading statement as soon as they are satisfied that a reasonable degree of
certainty exists that the financial results for the period to be reported upon
next will differ by at least 20% from the financial results for the previous
corresponding period.
Shareholders are therefore advised that Liberty Holdings` headline earnings per
share are expected to be between 40% and 50% lower than that reported in the
first half of 2007. Total earnings per share are also expected to be between 40%
and 50% lower than that reported for the corresponding 2007 period.
The information contained in this announcement has not been reviewed or audited
by the company`s external auditors.
The interim results of Liberty Holdings for the six months ended 30 June 2008
will be published on the JSE`s Stock Exchange News Service on or about 8 August
2008.
