DECLARED INTERIM DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON ABSA GROUP LIMITED HOT ENHANCED
DIVIDEND SECURITIES - ("ASAIHE")
With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of ABSA Group Limited
have declared an interim dividend of 265 cents per ordinary share payable to
ordinary shareholders recorded in the books of the company at the close of
business on Friday, 29 August 2008.
Last day to trade "CUM" distribution: Friday, 22 August 2008
Securities trade "EX" Dividend: Monday, 25 August 2008
Record Date: Friday, 29 August 2008
Payment Date: Monday, 1 September 2008
Accordingly, the warrant holders of the Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities,
ASAIHE, will receive an ABSA Group Limited interim dividend of 265 cents per
security on Monday, 1 September 2008, in terms of the Cession clause
incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited.
The last day to trade ("cum" the dividend) in order to participate in the
dividend will be Friday, 22 August 2008.
ASAIHE Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading "ex" the dividend from
the commencement of business on Monday, 25 August 2008, and the record date will
be Friday, 29 August 2008.
