TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are required
to publish a trading statement as soon as there is a reasonable degree of
certainty that the financial results for the period to be reported upon next
will differ by at least 20% from that of the previous corresponding period.
Shareholders are therefore advised that earnings per share ("EPS") and headline
earnings per share ("HEPS") for the six months ending 31 August 2008 are
expected to be between 40% and 60% lower than the comparative figure for the six
months ended 31 August 2007. This results in anticipated EPS between 23.5 cents
and 35.2 cents and HEPS between 22.5 cents and 33.8 cents.
Prospects for the second half of the year remain positive and the group expects
to deliver a satisfactory result for the full year.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed and/or reported on by the Company`s auditors. The results for the six
months ending 31 August 2008 are expected to be released on or about 22 October
2008.
