DECLARED INTERIM DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON TONGAAT HULETT HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND

With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of Tongaat Hulett
have declared an interim dividend of 160 cents per ordinary share payable on
Thursday, 4 September 2008 to ordinary shareholders, recorded in the books of
the company at the close of business on Friday, 29 August 2008.
Accordingly, the warrant holders of the Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities,
TONIHC, will receive a Tongaat Hulett final dividend of 160 cents per security
on Thursday, 4 September 2008, in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in
the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited. The last day to
trade ("cum" the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be
Friday, 22 August 2008.
TONIHC Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading "ex" the dividend
from the commencement of business on Monday, 25 August 2008, and the record date
will be Friday, 29 August 2008.
