PPC Announces Key Executive Appointments
In line with its transformation philosophy and focus on the development and
promotion of black talent from within, PPC is pleased to announce that four
executive appointments have been made in the key areas of Technical Services,
Sales and Marketing, Transformation, and at its operation in Zimbabwe.
Roshni Lawrence has been promoted to Executive: Technical Services for the PPC
Group. "This is a key role going forward," says Chief Operating Officer Dr.
Orrie Fenn. Lawrence spent the last two years as General Manager at PPC`s
Germiston cement factory, one of only a handful of female cement factory
managers in the world.
Sello Helepi has been appointed Executive: Transformation in recognition of his
pioneering work in the fields of Corporate Social Investment and Social Labour
Planning, two of the cornerstones of PPC`s transformation philosophy. Helepi
will play a pivotal role in the set-up and management of the several trusts that
form an integral component of PPC`s Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment
(BBBEE) transaction which is nearing completion.
Richard Tomes who started his career in PPC in 1998 in the Technical Marketing
Department and who has spent the last four years in Sales and Marketing, the
last two as General Manager Inland Sales Region, has been appointed Executive:
Sales and Marketing. Tomes a qualified specialist in cement applications and
concrete technology has proven his ability to service the marketplace in a
proficient and professional manner and is frequently called upon to advise on
the use of concrete in large infrastructural projects.
Finally, Zak Limbada has been appointed Managing Director of PPC`s Zimbabwe
operations. With more than twenty five years experience in cement production at
PPC, the last three as General Manager of PPC`s Riebeeck cement factory, Limbada
who will relocate to Zimbabwe to oversee the operation is ideally equipped to
take on the many challenges that exist in Portland Holdings` current
environment.

leadership team, and firmly supports our philosophy of developing our people and
promoting from within. It also epitomises the success of transformation which
lies at the very heart of our organization and which is something that PPC has
