APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR
In accordance with the provisions of paragraph 3.59 (a) of the Listings
Requirements of the JSE Limited, notification is hereby given that the board of
directors of the Company has approved the appointment of Dr. Jan Walters Kruger
as an independent non-executive director with effect from Friday, 22 August
2008.
Dr. Kruger is a senior lecturer in Corporate Finance at the UNISA School for
Business Leadership. He has been a professional investor and equity analyst for
many years. Dr. Kruger has extensive experience as a consultant and as a
lecturer in Mathematics, Operations Research, Finance, Computer Science,
Management and Statistics, both in industry and at Universities. Dr. Kruger has
presented 19 conference papers and published 10 research publications on Machine
Learning, Data Mining and the Reliability Theory. Dr. Kruger did his PhD
entitled "Finding the causal structure from the correlation matrix" in Computer
Science at Wits University and is currently studying for a doctorate in Business
Leadership.
Dr. Kruger brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience and is bound to
make a valuable contribution to Thabex.
