FATAL ACCIDENT AT PAMODZI GOLD ORKNEY OPERATION
It is with great regret that junior gold mining company, Pamodzi Gold Limited
("Pamodzi Gold") has to announce a fatal accident yesterday,3 September 2008,
which has claimed the life of one of its employees at its Ornkey operation in
the North West province.
Mr Themba Phohleli, a team leader, tragically lost his life after a fall of
ground accident. A stoper and a rock drill operator also sustained injuries as a
result of the accident.
A full investigation will be launched in conjunction with the Department of
Minerals and Energy, to determine the cause of the accident.
Tony Murdoch Eaton, Pamodzi Gold`s Chief Operating Officer, extends his
condolences to Mr Phohleli`s family, colleagues and friends. "We are focused on
achieving a safety first environment in the workplace and the insight gained
from the enquiry will be utilised to further advance safety at all Pamodzi
Gold`s operations," he said.
