CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The board is pleased to announce that Mr Alwyn Steenkamp ("Alwyn"), executive
director in charge of mining operations, has been appointed as CEO to the Group.
Mr Eugene de Kok will assume the role of Executive Chairman.
Since 1986 Alwyn has fulfilled an engineering post with a major mining house
before joining Thanda Bantu as Managing Director. Following the successful sale
of Thanda Bantu to Alliance Mining, Alwyn joined the group as Executive
Director. Alliance Mining wishes Alwyn all the best in his new position.
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the board of directors of Alliance Mining are pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr Ben Haumann ("Ben") as executive director with immediate
effect.
Ben holds a Manager`s Certificate in Mining and has in excess of 30 years
experience in the mining industry. Before joining Alliance Mining, Ben held the
position of Senior Manager Operations at a major mining house. Ben joined
Alliance Mining in early 2008.
Furthermore, Mr Combri van der Westhuizen ("Combri") joins as an executive
director with immediate effect.
Combri has extensive experience in the property development and civil
construction fields. Combri held the position of managing director at a large
reef based civil and property development company. Combri joined the group early
in 2008.
Alliance Mining would also like to announce the resignation of Mr Johnny
Ramasehla as a non-executive director and Mr Lukas van der Merwe as executive
director with effect from 23 September 2008. The board of directors would like
to thank both Mr Ramasehla and Mr van der Merwe for their contribution to
Alliance Mining.
