EXTENSION OF LISTING ON JSE LIMITED ("JSE")
Shareholders are referred to the circular dated 2 September 2008 relating to
the repurchase of shares from shareholders in which it was indicated that if
the offer is accepted in respect of less than 78%, the company will continue
with the business plan as disclosed in the circular dated 2 September 2008.
The board of directors wishes to confirm that they do intend pursuing the
business plan if the offer is accepted in respect of less than 78%. The
circular stated that ZCI was classified as a cash shell and the company has
now made representations to the JSE regarding the continued listing of ZCI.
The JSE advised the directors of ZCI that the listing will be suspended :
- Immediately. if after the results of the offer have been determined
those results indicate that the offer has been accepted in respect of
78% or more, or
- at the commencement of business on 12 January 2009 if the offer is
accepted in respect of less than 78% and the company fails to post the
required circular and documentation (in compliance with the Listings
Requirements) to shareholders relating to the new business plan which
complies with the basic conditions of listing for investment trusts, by
the close of business on 9 January 2009.
The announcement of the results is expected to be made on 13 October 2008.
