Uranium One Temporarily Suspends Mine Operations at Dominion
Vancouver, British Columbia and Johannesburg, South Africa - Uranium One Inc.
announced that it has temporarily suspended mine operations at the Dominion
Uranium Project in South Africa.
This action follows labour disruptions last week at the Project, which
culminated in a general illegal strike. Notwithstanding repeated Company
directives to end the strike and a court order issued on October 9 by the Labour
Court of South Africa prohibiting the continuation of the illegal strike, a
majority of the labour force at Dominion has refused to return to work. In
light of the refusal to comply with the court order, the Company commenced the
process of issuing termination notices to the striking workers at Dominion on
October 10. In the meantime, the Company is actively exploring all options
available to it at Dominion.
